Salvation in Noodles

We needed some comfort food from our hectic work/night lives, so a big bowl of hot soupy goodness seemed like the perfect thing. Also, I keep cycling past this place and anywhere with its own bike racks outside makes me want to visit. We both love all cuisines, there is a lot to choose from in London and in East we have a lot of long standing Vietnamese restaurants battling it out on Tripadvisor. Well, this place is modernising Vietnamese food with its second restaurant just opened on Finchley Road, we visited the Dalston branch since its just a walk away from home. image Drinks are local craft beers and a few wines by the glass. We had some starters but they are really just small plates so you could share a selection if ramen isn’t your thing. Ok, we did have a pre-starter as well, which you see above a delicious crunchy moreish sesame cracker and dip. image For our actual starters we had the chicken wings… of course with Lewis around these are a must so I picked the other, lamb chops. Carnivores at heart they were both So good. We agreed the chicken wings rival our recent visits to fancy fried chicken restaurants. The chops were juicy and tender served with a sticky sweet dip. image For mains we obviously had two big old ramens, the spicy pork belly and beef and the rare beef ramen; both with noodles at the bottom, fresh herbs on the top and a slice of lime on the side. Just what the doctor ordered. It is the perfect affordable mid week meal for groups of friends or couples. A great Dalston staple.
